NTT DATA Reveals Business Insights Engine

Leading global technology innovator partners with CentraForce Health and MarkLogic to develop cutting-edge solution for healthcare data management

PLANO, TX – May 2, 2019 – NTT DATA, a recognized leader in global technology services, announced its new Business Insights Engine (BIE) solution with partner companies CentraForce Health and MarkLogic. Together, these companies have developed an innovative solution that creates a solid foundation for data analytics. As many healthcare organizations are struggling with the overwhelming amount of data that comes from disparate sources, BIE can help organizations use data effectively to make insightful business decisions and develop member care programs.

The BIE is fueled by CentraForce Health’s Comprehensive Determinants of HealthTM and MarkLogic’s multi-model NoSQL database platform. These advanced technologies allow NTT DATA to create a system in which their health plan clients can see propensity indicators of social and behavioral determinant risks (e.g. attitudinal risk, education risk, transportation risk, etc.) that allow them to be proactive with their member populations.

“At NTT DATA, we understand how important it is for our health plan clients to gain insights that improve member engagement and ultimately enhance member health. That is why we have invested in analytics and artificial intelligence tools to create our Business Insights Engine solution, which I believe can be a game changer for our clients,” says Shashi Yadiki, health plan division president, NTT DATA Services. “Our partner companies – CentraForce Health and MarkLogic – are experts in their respective fields, and together, we are transforming the way the healthcare industry uses data.”

The BIE not only informs health plan executives but provides actionable insights. End users will benefit from health plan-specific reports and predictive models, as BIE brings them insights to help predict events and healthcare outcomes. Additionally, users can now obtain a 3D view of each member by collecting all of the disparate data sources to analyze aspects of a member’s journey from their history to forecast future possible events.

“We are excited to partner with NTT DATA and MarkLogic for this venture,” says Steve Newman, MD, executive chairman and chief medical officer of CentraForce Health. “Through our joint development of the Business Insights Engine, we’ve harnessed data’s potential to help make better decisions. To all of us, BIE means empowerment; an as-a-service solution that can prepare plans and providers for the future of healthcare.”

Through the partners’ creativity and collaboration in developing the BIE, the solution offers multiple components and flexible implementation. Some of the key benefits of employing this technology include:

  • Increased speed to value due to rapid predictive model creation/deployment
  • Cloud-based, scalable, as-a-service delivery model that empowers end-user self-service
  • Integration of multi-format data types into a single repository and an API first approach
  • Creation of actionable insights for consumption by operational apps/downstream systems

“We are looking forward to expanding our relationship with NTT DATA,” says Dave Ponzini, executive vice president of marketing and corporate development of MarkLogic. “Each company brings their expertise and industry knowledge to the table, and it’s because of this that we have been able to develop an advanced solution specifically for the healthcare market. I am truly excited to see how the Business Insights Engine helps shape the future of healthcare.”
